Valerija could retell each and every one of her favorite moments from being raised in Yak T'el, in Iq Br'aax—and yet, for almost no good reason some might say, she decided to venture off into lands unknown to her people and to herself. The young hrothgar made no plea to her mother and father, it was a simple statement that she uttered confidently: "I shall take a ship across the Indigo Deep, and I shall venture into lands unknown to us. I will write as often as I can, and I vow to you here and now that I shall meet no untimely end." Valerija is a decorated soldier, no, commander within the Bozjan Resistance force, as well as a renowned hero after her service to the war effort came to a close with the so-called "End of Days" bringing Garlemald's seemingly neverending reinforcements to a halt. PROFICIENCIES

gunblades	While gunblades were certainly nowhere near Valerija's first love in terms of weaponry, she has indeed grown to enjoy employing them within her own arsenal. The Helion has grown very familiar with most every sort of blade available, and has put in extensive effort to train herself in a few different styles of combat. However, tinkering with the gunblades found scattered about the Bozjan frontlines has led to great discovery for her, regarding the many different types of weapons that can actually be considered "gunblades." _{Twin gunblades... now there's a thought.}
firearms / gadgets	Although the sciences of magitek did not exactly come as naturally to her as it would have a Garlean, a good amount of tinkering with the scrap she found littered upon the Bozjan battlefields has led to a much greater understanding for the Hrothgar commander.
battlefield medicine	Though magic has never been her preferred method of doing battle, it became increasingly clearer to Valerija that simple might and skill would not be enough to save her comrades that sustained fatal injuries.
culinary	In spite of her lack of any sort of classical training, the soldier manages to cook well-enough not only for herself but her fellow compatriots as well! A resistance doesn't exactly act well on empty stomachs, you know?
weapons and armor	Valerija prides herself on her ability to forge, and—even moreso—maintain her allies' equipment. We can't have your armor falling to bits in a fight now, can we?
axes	Valerija loves fighting with an axe—it's easy, it's reliable, and it's large. Able to decimate large swathes of enemies, or simply cleave one foe in twain, an axe is never a bad weapon to have on hand.

Blossoming into adulthood, Valerija found it difficult to stay in one place, opting to adventure out into seas unbeknownst to most Turali peoples. Her travel eastwards led her to Eorzea, and its great many plights... not to mention her journeys even further east towards Orthard, towards Bozja.

CHILDHOOD

Born to two dark-furred helion parents, ~~Valens~~ Valerija is the second child of native Turali Xax Inen (Mother) and adventurer Mira (Father). They were, and still are, loving parents—Xax Inen taught traditional Xbr'aal ways to their children, while the foreigner Mira told stories of his lands to the east and gave many broad life lessons from his experience out in the world. It was together that they taught their children the ways of survival—cooking, hunting, even maintaining equipment properly. Valerija and her older sibling, Akoh, enjoyed practicing much of what their parents taught them together, and bonded through this shared experience. As all children should, Valerija enjoyed her early life, and received the blessings of both of her parents to venture out into the world upon reaching adulthood and giving them her vow.
